1The word of the LORD came to me, saying.2Son of Adam, say to the prince of Tyre, This is what the Lord GOD says: Because your heart is exalted and you say, 'No, I sit, the seat of gods, in the heart of seas,' and you—you are Adam and not God, and you give your heart like the heart of gods.3Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you.4With your wisdom and understanding you have made power for yourself, and you have made gold and silver in your treasuries.5By the abundance of your wisdom and your trading, you have multiplied your wealth, and your heart has become proud because of your wealth.6Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have given your heart as the heart of gods.7Therefore, look, I am bringing foreigners, tyrants of nations, against you, and they will empty their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and profane your splendor.8He will bring you down to the pit, and you will die the deaths of the uncircumcised, a profaner in the heart of the seas.9Will you say, "I am God," before your killer? You are only a man, and not God, in the hand of your profaners.10You will die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of foreigners, because I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.11And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,12Son of Adam, raise a lament over the king of Tyre and say to him, This is what the Lord GOD says: You are the seal of pattern, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.13In Eden, the garden of God, you were. Every precious stone was your setting: carnelian, topaz, and Tarshish, shoham, and jasper, your lapis lazuli, carbuncle, and gold. The workmanship of your tambourines and flutes was in you. On the day you were created, they were prepared.14You are the anointed cherub of the covering, and I gave you on the holy mountain of God; you were in the midst of the stones of fire, and you walked back and forth.15You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, until iniquity was found in you.16By the abundance of your trade they filled your midst with violence, and you sinned. So I profaned you, mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O cherub of the covering, from the midst of the stones of fire.17Your heart was elevated in your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom over your splendor. On earth I cast you; before kings I gave you to be seen in you.18By the abundance of your iniquities, in the injustice of your trading, you profaned your sanctuaries. So I will bring fire from your midst; it will devour you, and I will turn you to ash on the earth in the sight of all who see you.19All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you were a terror, and you will not be forever.
